As a small kid, living in Glasgow`s city centre I would often end up in George Square. My mother would tell me all about the statues but I wondered what happened in all the big buildings that surrounded the square. In the east end of George square is the City Chambers. Mum told me that was Glasgow Corporation. They organised everything to do with the city. They must be busy people. Since then they have changed their name a few times but I think they are now known as Glasgow City Council.
In September 2013 I jumped at the chance to go inside the City Chambers to see for myself what happened in one of these big buildings on the square.
The Chambers were open to the public for one day part of the Open Doors event
