His Majesty the King's Guard of Norway Band and Drill Company, His Majestes Kongens 3 Gardekompani performing their 2023 drill evaluation in their specially designed drill hanger at their barracks Husbey Lair on the outskirts of Oslo in Norway on Friday 14th April.

This parade is the first time the company performs their display in front of an audience for the purpose of evaluation by senior members of the Norwegian Armed Forces. It is also the first time they get to perform to friends and family. These young musicians and soldiers start their year of conscription in October when they commence training through the winter, performing a few concerts along the way but mainly preparing for this parade in April where they receive the seal of approval to tour and perform around Norway and the world through the summer until the following October where their conscription ends.
It is worth noting that the majority within the band have had no formal musical training prior to joining other than an up bringing within the youth musikkorps scene in Norway and upon completion of their year of service many then go onto study music further as a result.
