We made it through our 1st week in Hawaii!
Lucky for us, we landed a fully furnished home which helped us out a great deal. Not having to worry about basic necessities upon arrival was super helpful.
We arrived on a Friday and the kids started school here on Oahu the following Monday. Despite the reputation public schools have here in Hawaii, we've been pretty pleased with the experience. The kids made friends and are adapting quite well.
On the downside, our car still hasn't arrived to the island, so we've been driving around a rental until we get the call that it has arrived to the port and is ready for pick up.
Overall, it's been a great week. Change isn't always easy but it can be very rewarding. We miss our friends and family, but the life style and culture here seems to be better suited for us.
We'll keep you all posted on the ups and the downs of life here on the island of Oahu.
