Here I show my chart for converting model railway speeds to scale speeds. You may pause the video to read the times. This is for 00 Gauge - 1/76th scale.
I measure the time it takes for a loco to travel the length of a long straight, which is 26.4 inches (670mm). I then use my simple chart to estimate the speed.
Mind you for more accurate speeds measure the time over a longer distance.
These speeds I verified against other online ones. My chart goes up to 200mph, only because one of my little cheap shunters does around 180mph scale speed.
