Penn Badgley is filming season 5 of Netflix's You in New York City, wearing an all-blue ensemble and featuring his character Joe Goldberg's iconic blue baseball hat. Netflix confirmed that season 5 will be the show's last, and the creators always had this season in mind. Charlotte Ritchie will return alongside Badgley, who plays Joe's love interest, Kate Galvin-Lockwood. The season 5 trailer, released in June 2023, features Badgley delivering an ominous monologue, asking viewers to consider who Joe will face as he returns to New York.
