These days, automakers are working harder than ever to ensure in-car infotainment technology is easy to use and loaded with highly convenient features that drivers will like. In our latest video, we're taking a look at the STARLINK system, which is now offered in most Subaru models.
You can control the STARLINK system in three ways: through the car's center-mounted touchscreen, by using voice commands or through controls mounted on the car's steering wheel.
Once you pair your smartphone to the system through USB or Bluetooth, you can access your favorite podcasts, audiobooks and music. Plus, you can access popular apps such as Pandora and iHeartRadio, as well as SiriusXM.
We really like that STARLINK lets you perform all its functions, such as adjusting the temperature, making calls or accessing your calendar, by voice command. And the system even reads your incoming texts to you so you don't have to divert your eyes from the road.
As for its touchscreen, the easy-to-use tabletlike screen gives STARLINK a leg up over competitive systems from Honda and Toyota. You can swipe, pinch to zoom and rotate the screen just like you'd do if you were using a smartphone or a tablet.
When it comes to peace of mind, STARLINK also has you covered. It offers automatic collision notification, enhanced roadside assistance and remote access to your vehicle through the MySubaru app.
All in all, we found that STARLINK delivers a broad range of entertainment and safety features that are easy to use, and we suspect many shoppers will find STARLINK to be yet another compelling reason to buy a Subaru.
