I recently had a neighbor pass away from excessive alcohol use. It was sad, but a sobering reminder of what alcohol can do to you internally. Usually, people overlook painful conditions like pancreatitis in favor of liver problems when alcohol is discussed. Alcohol in excessive amounts over time can produce all sorts of co-morbidities, from a relatively mild case of alcoholic gastritis (stomach lining inflammation) to an enlarged pancreas, to cirrhosis, and finally, cancer. I may have missed the heart, but high blood pressure and cardiomyopathy are results of excessive intake. You usually get only one set of organs. Treat them well and they will reciprocate. This video is not intended for regular to moderate drinkers, but for those suffering from Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) who are sober or are trying to quit.
