3 Questions to Ask in Your Next Informational Interview (How to Have an Informational Interview)
Even if you're not currently job searching, requesting an informational interview with someone who you admire, or someone whose job you admire, is a great opportunity to learn more about your industry or potential career path. And sometimes, the scariest part isn't making the "ask" for the interview, but figuring out what you're actually going to say, once you're there. That's where we come in. In this video, we'll go over three questions you can ask in your next informational interview:
1. Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?
2. What do you enjoy the least about your job? or, What surprised you most about the role you're currently in?
3. What were some of the early roles you held in your field? and/or, What skills did you learn in those roles, that you still use today?
If you're looking for more inspiration on what to ask, we've got an article that gives 15 suggestions of informational interview questions you can ask.
