On October 5, 2000, Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic was ousted when huge mobs rampaged through Belgrade.
Yugoslavia's ousted President Slobodan Milosevic has promised not to use force to restore himself to power, according to a Russian envoy.
The first pictures of Milosevic since the start of the uprising against him show Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov meeting him at his residence in Belgrade on Friday.
It ended speculation as to the whereabouts of the man who has been indicted for war crimes by an international tribunal.
Ivanov is believed to have told Milosevic not to expect any help or support from Russia and to have urged him to give up power immediately.
Ivanov earlier met with Milosevic's main rival Vojislav Kostunica and congratulated him on what he called his victory in last week's elections.
