Whatever your vacuum process, a variable speed drive (VSD), also known as a variable frequency drive (VFD), can make your production more economical. Traditionally, vacuum pumps run at a fixed speed. But if demand varies over time, the vacuum pump will continue to run at full power, even when it is not needed. A VSD regulates the rotational speed of the pump’s motor and adapts the pumping speed according to fluctuations in demand.
