(15 Jun 2015) US First Lady Michelle Obama arrived in London on Monday evening for a visit to promote her campaigns for girls' education and better support for military families.
Obama was accompanied by her mother Marian Robinson and her two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
During her visit, Obama is expected to meet Britain's Prince Harry and have tea at Downing Street with Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha on Tuesday.
She will also host an event at the Mulberry School for Girls in Tower Hamlets in East London to discuss joint work between the US and Britain to boost education for adolescent girls across the world.
She aims to promote the 'Let Girls Learn' initiative, championed by her and US President Barack Obama.
After London, the party will fly on to Italy to meet US armed services families based in Europe and to visit the Milan Expo as part of the third strand of her work, encouraging healthier diets for children.
