This video was made to chronicle my experience with a 2015 Certified Pre-Owned VW Golf 1.8 TSI Launch Edition that experienced premature engine failure at 87000 miles.
Unfortunately VW of America decided to not assist with the repair and cited the power train warranty limitation of 60k miles and that my vehicle was 27k miles out of warranty. In my personal opinion I think this is unacceptable for a 2015 motor but I respect their decision although 87k miles is pathetic considering the cost of the vehicle and length of ownership of 54k miles for a grand total cost of $18k.
Some basic troubleshooting to consider when experiencing rough idle as described in this video, this is a rough order of operations:
1. Scan the ECU to see where the misfire is coming from.
2. Swap the coil packs to see if the misfire follows.
3. Swap the spark plugs and check to see if they're wet with fuel (perform compression test if wet with fuel).
4. Check coil pack or spark plug wires for cracks or breaks.
5. Check the MAP / MAF sensor, attempt to clean or replace.
6. Perform compression test, here's a link to a good video: [ Ссылка ]
7. Verify injector isn't stuck open or clogged.
8. Let me know if I missed any tips and I'll add them.
