2. SOUNDBITE (Armenian) Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian President:
"We deepen our economic and political relations [with France] and I should emphasize your role in creating a favorable environment around Armenia. You mentioned the Prague quadrilateral meeting in 2022, where the cornerstone principles for regional peace and stability were established. I’m sure that if those principles are followed, specifically by Armenia and Azerbaijan, peace can be accessible and real. And I should emphasize our commitment to the agreements reached one more time."

4. SOUNDBITE (Armenian) Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian President:
"You mentioned establishing new relationships in the military field, which is extremely essential to bringing security and peace to the region. There has been criticism on that and I would like to emphasize that Armenia recognizes the territorial integrity of all its neighbors. In this sense, developing the defense capabilities of Armenia shouldn't disturb anyone. Our main issue is to create a balance of powers in the region."

STORYLINE:
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met for bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel in Paris on Wednesday and expressed his hope that peace can be achieved between his country and Azerbaijan.
At a joint press briefing with Macron, Pashinyan lauded France for "creating a favorable environment around Armenia" and emphasized the importance of "balance of powers in the region".
The Armenian leader is in Paris to attend a ceremony paying homage to Missak Manouchian at the Panthéon, the resting place of France's most revered figures.
A poet who took refuge in France after surviving the Armenian genocide, Manouchian was executed in 1944 for leading the resistance to Nazi occupation.
