We were able to visit all of the famous shipwrecks west of Key West, get some fishing in, and learned about all the rich history out there! All it takes is a 40 mile boat ride and you will immerse yourself into whole different world that also has some of the most incredible snorkeling in all of the Florida Keys!

And to think that this opportunity presented itself all because of a simple hello. During a morning swim on Sugarloaf Key, I saw a man who looked like he could use some help getting his dock up out of the water. I offered my assistance and Rory took me up on it. It was a five-minute job. He wanted to return the favor by taking me on a fishing trip where I'd call all the shots. I told him I've never seen the shipwrecks west of Key West, so we did just that.

And now we're fishing buddies, already planning future trips. Oh life...

I've lived in Key West for 11 years and never once have I had an opportunity like this one! We traveled a total of 146 miles, toured many of the wrecks, caught some fish, and learned that I won the jackpot with this guy! Rory is incredibly knowledgable about all the best spots and a total character who deserves his own fishing show. Hint, hint, to any producers watching :)

The history behind all of these wrecks is crazy and I took some time to research every one of them so that not only are you entertained, but you gain some knowledge of why these wrecks even exist. Key West is full of a ton of rich history and this trip has inspired me to keep digging for more stories, all of which I'm excited to share with you at a later date.
