바닷물 온도 급상승 지구 온난화 가중 우려 높여
We begin with the world's oceans where temperatures over the past few weeks have reached record highs.
According to climate scientists preliminary data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows that the ocean’s average surface temperature reached 21.1-degrees Celsius at the start of April rising a relatively large 0.36-degrees from March.
The new figure beats its previous high of 21-degrees set in April 2016.
The changes have been linked to warm weather on the back of the El Nino, combined with global warming.
The increased temperatures come after a three-year cooling period from the La Nina.
Scientists are still determining what the warmer oceans could mean for atmospheric temperatures.
But they do predict an increase in extreme weather conditions.
