00:17 Confluence allows us to quantify how fast cells are growing, compare different cell types and make decisions around passage requirements. Cells are valuable during assay development, as time goes on, we can look at the effects of seeding density and growth rates, this is useful when we need to choose a seeding density that will allow the cells to be in their growth phase for the duration of the assay, or if they need to reach a growth plateau at a certain time point.

The cells then proceed synchronously through the cell cycle and the time course shows peaks in the population at each cell cycle stage.
