Futuristic designs, innovative features... and cutting-edge technology.
This year's Seoul Motor Show shines a spotlight on nearly 300 vehicles from 27 of the world's leading automakers.
Hyundai Motor's hybrid Grandeur sedan and SsangYong Motor's premium SUV are set to make their world premieres.
And the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is showcasing 35 models... with the new E-Class Cabriolet and E-Class Coupe making their Asian debuts.
"In keeping with Korea's green transportation trend, eco-friendly cars -- ranging from plug-in hybrids to electric vehicles -- are expected to dominate the show. And with the world getting ready for the fourth industrial revolution,... self-driving cars and those with Internet of Things technology are also on display."
Reflecting the rising demand for eco-friendly features,... Toyota showcased the Prius Prime -- its second-generation plug-in hybrid.
GM Korea showcased its Chevrolet Bolt EV.
It can run 383 kilometers on a single charge... and was completely sold out the day it launched two weeks ago.
"The big thing about EV vehicles is people are always worrying about having to charge it every day or every hour. With 383 kilometers, the average person driving 40 kilometers a day to work, just do the math, overall week? You only have to charge it one time."
Korean IT giant Naver showcased its self-driving technology,... with machine learning and deep learning algorithms to help a car detect the surrounding environment.
Hyundai Motors also showed its Ioniq self-driving vehicle, which was in the spotlight at CES 2017.
"Technologies that are part of people's daily lives will be out in 2018 and 2019. People will be able to control their cars from their homes, and their homes from their cars. We're also thinking about services that will make use of the driver's location and routes."
The Seoul Motor Show opens to public on Friday and runs through April 9th at Kintex exhibition center in Ilsan,... giving visitors a chance to get a first look at these new cars.
