On Monday morning, Police and the army cordoned off offices of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kamwokya, Kampala and deployed heavily at the premises.
Police Spokesman, Fred Enanga explained that the raid and deployment at the NUP offices was because they got intelligence information that the offices would be used to coordinate protests after the NUP leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu rejected the results of the presidential election.
Relatedly, security also blocked Kyagulanyi lawyers from seeing him at his home in Magere, Wakiso District. The lawyers vowed to petition court to challenge Kyagulanyi's confinement. It's now four days since security operatives laid siege on the Kyadondo East legislator's home.
