Have you heard that cue in yoga class before, "one day you will get your heels to the floor in downward dog"?
Some students might, and many will not.
And that is ok!
Did you know that the shape of your bones might be the reason that your heels don't touch the floor?
If a student has reached their end range of motion in extension of the ankles, their heels may not be skeletally able to touch the floor in a posture such as downward dog.
This can be confirmed if they experience a feeling of "pinching" or "stuckness" at the front of their ankles in the posture.
