Pressure FM began broadcasting as a Jungle music pirate radio station on London's FM dial around the mid 90s on the 100.4 frequency. The station was well known for the balance of styles from intelligent Jungle Jazz to Jump Up Jungle. With its raw roughneck MCs who represented the darker side of MCing, with the likes of Eksman, Herbzie and Riko Dan, who showed no mercy when they rinsed off. On the other hand you had MCs like Stamina MC and Asher Mic who were on a melodic vocal tip.
Pressure FM was at the time an up and coming station, full of hungry ambitious underdogs looking to break through into the scene alongside notable and established DJs and producers. It had the likes of DJ Bizzy B (Brain Records, The Dream Team - Joker Records), DJ Dlux (2getherness Records), DJ Cabbie (DJ Cab-E), DJ Cutter, DJ Rips, DJ Kendal, DJ H.M.S. (RIP), DJ Agent K, DJ Diesel, DJ Knuckles, DJ Rhythm Kicker, DJ Nicol, DJ Friction, DJ Ruff Stuff (The UNCZ), DJ Scientist, DJ JB, DJ DI, DJ Mu (DJ Moo), DJ Prosper and DJ Kappa. The list of MCs was sublime, MC Eksman, MC Herbzie, MC Onyx Stone, Stamina MC (LK (V Recordings)), MC Wicked, MC Asher Mic, MC Bouncer, MC Trouble, MC Riko Dan, MC Jubilee, MC Spidey G, MC D Double E, MC Trixster, MC Bucky Ranks, MC 2 Tone, MC Lady Melody, MC Stampede and many others.
Pressure FM went off air around 1997, in early 1998 they made a comeback for a short while this time teaming up with Rinse FM who left the 91.8 dial to jointly run the station under the management of DJ Rips, Geeneus and Slimzee and they made the transition to Rinse FM 100.3 in the autumn of 1998.

1996 was a formidable year for Jungle productions where we saw the proliferation of Jungle record labels, producers, record shops, raves and pirate radio stations. Big up the crew that remember the big tunes of 1996:
