The first Beatles song credited solely to Ringo, “Don’t Pass Me By” was written in the early 1960s and was presented to the band soon after Ringo’s joining. It received occasional reference in band interviews and press reports before it was finally recorded in 1968 during the White Album sessions. Ringo and Paul are the only Beatles featured on the track (the former playing tack piano in a rare non-percussion related contribution), while session musician Jack Fallon provided the prominent violin part. With its bouncy rhythm and country influences, the song is distinctly Ringo.
