The day the Pussycat Theatre became the Lyceum Theatre
What a sight it was to see the Pussycat sign taken down and replaced by the Lyceum marquee. The X-rated film Deep Throat was ending its run and was replaced with the iconic family film The Sound of Music. The theatre at 4th and F was originally the Lyceum. The plan was to turn it into a live theatre in sixty days and a producer Don Wardman said he felt “the Sound of Music was probably the best film to put in until they’re ready with our live stage productions because we hope that every night after Sound of Music closes, sound of music will be emanating from the theatre.”
