As coronavirus deaths continue to rise and the world economy is rocked to its core, another question looms: What happens when the virus reaches the developing world? The World Food Programme warns the number of people suffering acute hunger could almost double to more than 265 million. Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is renewing his call for a coordinated global effort against the pandemic and its aftershocks.
