#germany City center in #berlin #dome of Berlin
well worth the price of admission, don't miss the climb to the rooftop observatory - the view is amazing!

The Berliner Dom is a very beautiful cathedral right in the city center. A ticket to go inside is well worth the money as you get to see the stunning interior
and climb to the top, which provides a panoramic view of the city. There is also a small exhibit in the cathedral
about its history which is interesting but entirely in German so largely open to interpretation for tourists! To the side of the building
there is the "silent room" which is dedicated to quiet contemplation,
a visit to which is very calming and makes you feel at ease. Overall the Berlin Cathedral is well worth a visit
This is a beautiful church from the outside but even more stunning on the inside. We didn't get the audio guide (€3)
so I'm not sure if you should or not. Throughout the church there are screens with 2 sets of headphones where you can
watch a 3-5 minute story on some aspect of the cathedrals history. Each screen tells a different story so don't miss any.
Inside the alter and dome are quite beautiful. As you make your way up, be aware there are just under 300 steps and no lift.
There are displays on about 4 different levels so you don't do them all at once. On reaching the top you get to walk around the entire dome with great views of the Berlin skyline.
On the way down don't forget to go into the crypts
where there are dozens of German royalty buried (audio guide may come in handy here). This is well worth doing on a nice day.
my favorite part was the underground level, in which there are the Hohenzollern graves
The huge cupola is one of the main landmarks in Berlin’s cityscape. It has a height of 75 meters and a diameter of 33 meters.
The church is not very old. It was completed in 1905.
To visit inside, there is an admission fee of EUR 7.00.
The way up to the roof is not for someone with claustrophobic or breathing problems.
Steep and narrow.
The Cathedral is on a very pretty square near to other important buildings and is well worth the visit.
The part that I enjoyed was walking the 270 steps to the top and walking around the outside of the Dom.
This gives a great view of the surrounding area, although got a little bit scary when the wind was up!
Also by walking up to the top you can have a different view of the inside of the cathedral.
Inside you can also see photos of how the Dome was rebuilt after the allied Bombings during WWII.
The crypt is also worth a visit with sarcophagi and burial monuments for over 90 people, many of who were of the ruling families of the last 500 years.
It also shows how the designs have changed of sarcophagi.
Really loved the architecture of The Berlin Cathedral and was amazed by the coffins preserved in the Crypt below.
The Inside of the cathedral was out of the world and the boat ride next to the Cathedral altogether was one marvelous experience.
