I threw this video together to explain some of the ways that I manage difficult deliveries in my sows. I cover topics such as my barn camera, still births & soggy pigs, dystocia, mummies, and dealing with angry/aggressive sows. I don't include information on using an OB snare (loop puller) because I have neuropathy in my hands and I am unable to effectively use one. I also forgot to cover what to do when a pig is simply too big to pull out. (The only solution is to pull it out in pieces in order to save the sow.) This is not the best footage, but hopefully you'll still find something valuable to take away!

My husband and I have been farming for nearly 30 years; we've learned a LOT during that time! Despite the fact that I have a degree in Animal Science and my husband has a degree in Agricultural Science, we continue to step outside the box when it comes to animal husbandry. Our goals are to raise happy, healthy animals that can provide our family sustenance and, at times, profit. It's my pleasure to try to share some of that knowledge with you!
