(28 Mar 2018) Far-right French leader Marine Le Pen attended a march in honour of a slain Holocaust survivor on Wednesday, despite criticism from France's leading Jewish group.
Meanwhile, scuffles broke out throughout the Paris march, despite the head of the CRIF Jewish group saying members of the National Front and far-left groups would not be welcome because of anti-Semitic sentiment among their members.
Le Pen's National Front party called on members to attend silent marches in Paris and around the country in tribute to 85-year-old Mireille Knoll, stabbed in what authorities call an anti-Semitic attack.
Le Pen tweeted earlier on Wednesday that the CRIF can't stop her from attending the event.
She has sought to distance herself from the anti-Semitism that stained her party in the past, instead focusing anger on immigrants and Islamic extremists.
