Foreigners try to explain the Dutch celebration of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) en Zwarte Piet (Black Pete). It's a bit weird... and it's definitely not Christmas!
Sinterklaas is celebrated at the 5th of December in the Netherlands. Sinterklaas arrives on a boat with his black helpers: Zwarte Piet. This blackface character is subject of a huge debate... and we've made a different video about it: 'Is the Dutch Black Pete racist or not?': [ Ссылка ]
The current video deals with the elements that expats and other foreigners in the Netherlands know about the celebration, and their personal experiences. Some have Dutch relatives and have celebrated Sinterklaas as a child.
