In the wake of the Nabanna Abhijan Rally called for August 27 to protest the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case, the West Bengal police have tightened security around the West Bengal state secretariat "Nabanna". However, the protest went violent the protestors broke barricades and police securities arrangements. Police at the end unleashed water cannons to disperse the protesting crowd.
