The 4th of February is celebrated as World Cancer Day. With that awareness, Dr. Saidul Islam, Senior Consultant & Head & Neck (Oncology) says that Awareness is a very important role that plays when it comes to knowing about the Disease for prevention and cure. Many patients visit the doctors at the critical or last stage which becomes difficult to cure even after treatment. Dr. Islam thus advises visiting a doctor at the earliest stage so that Cancer can be detected and treatment can start. If an individual comes across a certain lump, ulcer, bleeding, or oral cavity at the head and neck region, the wise decision would be to seek medical advice as soon as possible. He also mentions that Biopsy should not be feared in such cases as the outcome is excellent when it comes to further treatment.
