Hunga Tonga volcano emitted an ash cloud 17 km (55,000 ft) into the atmosphere on January 15, 2022, and NOAA satellites acquired 4K UHD video of the event. The explosion caused property damage near the eruption, including smashed windows. Tonga Meteorological Services issued a tsunami warning just after 5:30 p.m., and the tsunami swamped coastal regions of Tonga.
