This was my first time seeing Betty live! I considered going to her last performance in San Jose, but I missed it. I was super excited when I heard of her new tour year, so I chose to watch her in Santa Cruz, instead of San Francisco. Santa Cruz was the first concert of the tour, too!
The line surprisingly did not form until about 20-30 minutes before the doors opened (for the general admission crowd at least). The VIP crowd consisted of about 15 people max. And the crowd during the concert was easily less than half capacity of the venue. The sound could've been better (vocals were often drowned out by everything else). Ignoring the latter, all of this only made the concert a lot more special and intimate! Betty's interactions and singing, her and her dancers' choreography, and the band's energy really pumped up the crowd. I also touched her hand when she ran across the front! She performed a lot of my favorite older songs, and implemented a huge setlist with the use of medleys. This was definitely one of the most danceable concerts I've been to. I no longer regretted having to drive 70 miles back to SF at midnight, and I'm glad to have been part of it!
