“Love” is at the heart of Chinese designer Yueqi Qi’s creations — her signature looks are inspired by classical Chinese romances, her embellishments made from large laser-cut, heart-shaped PVC sequins with the Chinese character for “love” at the centre.
Inspired by Chinese romances from ‘The Butterfly Lovers’ to ‘The Legend of the White Snake’, Qi’s daring designs and intricate embellished dresses showcase the transcendent power of love, a concept that traverses across space-time — fitting to the theme of ‘The Love of Couture: Artisanship in Fashion Beyond Time’ exhibition at K11 MUSEA. Developed by K11 in collaboration with the V&A, Co-chaired by V&A Deputy Director and COO Tim Reeve and Production Designer William Chang Suk Ping (張叔平), with UBS as title sponsor.
