How does it work?
Binaural beats consist of two separate pure tones, that are close in pitch, but not identical. One tone is sent to the left ear, and the other tone is sent to the right ear. Our brain does it’s best to match the pitch, so we wind up hear a sound oscillation that sounds like [wah-wah-wah-wah]. The higher the frequency, the faster the oscillation, the faster the brainwave, and the more alert the state of mind.
Binaural beats ONLY work with headphones because each pure tone has to be heard separately in each ear.
Caution!
Binaural beats output frequencies (Hz) that replicate the cycles of brainwaves. When the brain syncs up with these frequencies, your state of consciousness will be altered.
Because of the strong and repetitive pulsating rhythms, people who are prone to seizures or epilepsy should not listen to binaural beats. Children and pregnant women should also use caution when considering using brainwave entrainment.
