Mark Born, The AA's Driving Instructor Training Manager, will show you how to do the 'pulling up on the right' manoeuvre.
Practical driving tests will potentially include this manoeuvre from December 2017 onwards.
While The Highway Code advises drivers not to park against the flow of traffic, it’s a legal manoeuvre - and sometime's it's necessary, such as when you're pulling over to nip into a shop, post a letter, or even if you live on the right-hand side of the road.
Here's how:
- You can let oncoming traffic know what you're doing
- You can safely and easily cross oncoming traffic
- The kerb can help you position yourself
- Your blind spot can catch you out!
