In this experiment, we do the following experiments for monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides.
(1) Do Fehling's test on several monosaccharides and disaccharides to determine the presence of hemiacetal structure.
(2) Do hydrolysis on starch with acid catalysis to understand that these carbohydrates are produced by intermolecular dehydration condensation of monosaccharides.
