At first, when Josh Foley's mutant powers showed up (and by the way, it happened while he was in a group kinda like the KKK but against mutants – a part of his story that people don't talk about much), he could only heal others. But later on, he found out he could also hurt people using the same powers. He could change their cells to either heal them or hurt them.
