The 2014 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, June 25-29, brought a bevy of thrills and national attention to Hornet Stadium and Sacramento State. Olympic and world champions, American record-holders and even a nearly full-term, pregnant middle-distance runner competed before crowds far larger than organizers had forecast. And the stadium's brand-new $1.4 million, green-and-gold Mondo Super X 720 track received rave reviews from the athletes.
