How to tell if a queen ant is fertilized? Watch this video to find out! Many new ant keepers have experienced catching a queen and a couple months later, she just dies, or gives birth to alates, which means she wasn't fertilized by a male ant in the first place. I made this video to help newer ant keepers avoid failed colonies due to the queen ant not being fertilized. I am by no means an expert on the matter, but i do have some personal experience on whether a queen is fertilized or not.
