For a while now, I’ve been trying to find the balance between travelling as light as possible and maximising production quality. Often those two things seem to be at odds. Minimalism without compromise is the goal. There are also huge advantages to being nimble when you’re doing a lot of “run and gun” shooting with documentary filmmaking. That’s what made me so excited about the release of the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro!
This is by no means a full review (which will come) but I had a gap to test it out while in Namibia recently and I’m really impressed with the results so far. Over the course of this year, I’ll be making it my main camera for broadcast and promo content alike and putting it through the paces. I already edit off of DaVinci Resolve so the workflow with the BRAW codec will be pretty seamless (luckily my little MacBook Pro is keeping up so far 😝).
Who wants to see a full review?
