Join Alejandro Anaya and Meagan Burns for a
Mixed Media Painting + Carved Wood Workshop
No experience necessary, but the want to artistically experiment with a very forgiving and creative medium.

This workshop aims to explore artistic tools and techniques using acrylic paint, inks, charcoal, simple monotype with aluminum foil, and printmaking carving techniques on masonite wood. We'll discover how easy it is to work on this material, which is why artists like Leonora Carrington and Jackson Pollock frequently used it. We'll experiment with paint, inks, brushes, eye droppers, water based printmaking ink, among other things, so by the end of the workshop, you'll be armed with dramatic illustrative tools and techniques for using them, thereby enhancing your artist repertoire.

Alejandro is a powerhouse illustrator and since arriving in San Miguel de Allende from Mexico City in 2019, he continues to do a deep dive in the world around him, as noted in his dramatic art; he's a magician with the pen, and now you have the opportunity to learn several illustrative tricks from a pro!
