The race took place at the Kalmannberg in Sarntal between Reinswald and Durnholz. It is not an impossible climb like those in Arette or Andler, but not less spectacular.
The riders startin bulks of 6, up to the finals, where always one rider is eliminated. The international starting field consists of participants from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, who compete on the 290m long slope. The race is run with normal MXbikes and normal tires.
Also present in the starterfield the 2-time MTB CrossCountry World Champion Gerhard Kerschbaumer, the 2-time Italian Downhill Champion Johannes von Klebelsberg and a lot of motivated drivers, 170 to be precise. Along the track a crowd of enthusiastic spectators.
In the battles KTM against Honda, local heroes against foreigners, in the end Alex Herbst from Deutschnofen had the better cards.
