The gallop is the fastest gait of the horse, averaging about 40 to 48 kilometres per hour (25 to 30 mph). When the legs are stretched out, at least one foot is still in contact with the ground. When all four feet are off the ground in the suspension phase of the gallop, the legs are bent.
Also the Horse Gallop is different than smaller quadrupeds run,
as the legs are spread in the low position and far apart in the high.
