The NOH Modular Comper is a eurorack gate sequencer module for chord accompaniment. Play a gate sequence from a bank of widely used jazz, bossa nova, and pop chord patterns. Patterns range from Swing to straight 8th notes, and are selectable in three time signatures (4/4, 7/8, 3/4). Add a groovy humanized bass that is dependent on the genre of the chord pattern, and perform with randomness for generative music (or lucky musicians). Additional outputs are meter and 8th notes.
This video shows the step-by-step patch on a modular system to set-up the Comper and compose fast but musical chord sequences using the chord and bass gate outputs taken from the module.
