The Paediatric Orthopaedic division at NUH manages a variety of bone and joint conditions that affect children from birth to their teenage years. Young patients come to NUH to get treated for conditions such as hip disorders, limb deformities, foot malalignment, sports injuries, bone tumours and infection. NUH specialises in hip preservation surgery and the treatment of patella instability (kneecap dislocation).
One of the common conditions seen at NUH is children with fractures and broken bones of arms and legs. For mild fractures, the patient may need to wear a cast for a few weeks. For more severe fractures, it may require manipulation and reduction or surgery with the use of implants.
A team of paediatric anaesthetists, orthopaedic surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals will care for your child if they need to undergo any surgery.
