Some notes about the mix, "Sync" button and 1980's music:
The pitchfader of the Numark Party Mix DJ Controller is pretty short. Getting the right beatmatch is very difficult so the "Sync" button was used to get a very accurate match.

Digitization was not far advanced in the 1980's and before. Most of all tracks were recorded analogously. Depending on the selected track a fine continuous beat was tricky. Permanent pitchfader changes were needed to get and hold beats in sync. This issue occurs not very often but the older the track, the more frequently this occurred. The sync function is able to reduce or eliminate such issues depending on selected beat-count.
