France has unveiled a draft law aimed at clamping down on radical Islam.
Prime Minister Jean Castex has defended the bill saying it will free Muslims from the growing grip of radicalism.
The government insists that neither Islam nor Muslims will be targeted. Instead, the measure aims to limit radicals from operating in the country -- as well as to uphold French values. Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is among several Muslim leaders around the world to slam the proposed law.
He said his French counterpart's attitude towards Muslims warranted "mental therapy."
