* Pressure continues to mount on President Cyril Ramaphosa as he faces yet another court action. This time, Media Monitoring Africa is hauling the President to the Constitutional Court over the failure to appoint an SABC board. This latest development follows a string of court challenges involving the President and an imminent cabinet reshuffle.
* Beleaguered former Eskom CEO, Andre De Ruyter, has been given a week to report corruption allegations, supported with evidence that occurred at the ailing power utility or face legal action by the ANC. De Ruyter made claims in an interview that the governing party views Eskom as a feeding trough.
He further added that there was a certain minister who was behind the looting at Eskom. The ANC says to date, they are not aware of any case that was opened by De Ruyter but says he's bound by law to report this matter to authorities.
* The Simzamile senior secondary school at Ndevana near Qonce in the Eastern Cape is yet to receive the attention of the provincial Education Department as parents and learners call for a proper school building.
The current structure is in a steep location where rainwater easily passes through the school, and floods some of the classrooms. The department's spokesperson, Malibongwe Mtima, says they are working on a permanent solution.
* Family, friends and fellow anti-Apartheid activists have paid tribute to Black Consciousness leader and anti-Apartheid struggle stalwart, Peter Jones during his memorial service. His family says he will be remembered as an eternal freedom fighteR. Jones is known to be the last black person to see Black Consciousness Movement founding father, Steve Biko alive.
Jones served the liberation struggle as the Vice-President of the Azanian People's Organisation.
