A glimpse into the daily life of a scout pilot in Iraq 2004. I made this "home movie" to send to my family back in July 2004. It was created on a laptop in my dark little hooch in my off-time, so you'll have to get past the pretentious editing and song choices.
Keep in mind, this was made for family. There's a bit of cheese factor.
It was my first deployment, and the conveniences of modern life such as the internet weren't available in our living area, so this was a way to let family get a little glimpse into what we did while gone. "Action shots" are intentionally excluded, lol.
This was all filmed with an 8mm video cam, so the exposure and resolution are pretty poor.
Also; I had to record the audio track in my hooch while everyone else was sleeping; that's why my voice sounds so quiet and boring; I was trying not to sound like a dork or wake anyone up.
For those of you following my DCS KW Intro videos and are waaaaay to observant; the switches and procedures are slightly different because this was an OH58D(I) (pre-FADEC), not the OH58D(R) you will see in DCS.
