During these trying and uncertain times, we have been trying to spread a little bit of love and movie magic by showcasing some of our favourite moments in film. This month, as part of our advent calendar, we’re celebrating everything Christmas in film!

Here we have a special vintage treat, a snippet from classic Halas & Batchelor animation CHRISTMAS VISITOR (1958). John Halas and Joy Batchelor were a husband and wife animator team who made the first-ever British animated feature along with over 2,000 shorts, features, and informational animations.

In this short Christmas film, they animate the classic “Night Before Christmas” tale with fantastical additions of their own. When Santa brings the sleeping children presents, the toys take on a life of their own. A lovely hidden gem in our catalogue to get us in the holiday spirit.
