Russian military tests its new BTR-82A Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) in tough conditions at the 201 military base near Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Wednesday.
The BTR-82A is a new 8x8 wheeled amphibious Armoured Personnel Carrier introduced by the Russian Armed Forces in 2013, and intended to replace the previous BTR-80.
The 201 military base is Russia’s largest military facility located abroad and dates from 2012. The deployment to the base will continue until 2042.
The drills took place at a driving range, designed to contain a large variety of obstacles, as well as different types of surfaces, imitating mountain roads, deserts, rocky paths with sharp turns and steep slopes.
